SPIRAL SPRINGS
Spiral springs are also known as flat torsion springs or Clock Spring, they are manufactured with flat spring steel strips / flat stainless steel strips Material. They are coiled through specialized Spring forming machines. Spiral springs have capability to store and release rotational torsion force, they are generally mounted in a housing and fixed with an arbor/leg in the inner coil. in this torque can be generated from both arbor or spring housing, these are applicated where a high force is required in limited space.
Spiral Spring Parameters
Following are the parameters required for manufacturing accurate design of Tension Springs :–
- Diameter of Bush /Hole /Housing where the spring is to be worked in.
- Arbor Dia. and length required as per assembly .
- Housing assembling Leg dia. and Length required as per assembly .
- Frequency / Cycles required for operating spring .
- Application which will helps to select the Material /Surface Finish for resistance of corrosion .
- Application of the spring which will helps to choose the loop ends as described in image attached .

- Wire thickness ranging from 0.15 mm- 0.60mm .
- Wire width ranging from 2 mm- 40mm .
